Service Description
This class meets and exceeds the education requirements to apply for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) as a Virginia resident. It is compliant with Virginia Code Sections 18.2-308.02 and 18.2-308.06 and is required to receive your permit. This offering combines the full 4-hour CHP classroom course with a supervised live-fire range session led by an NRA Certified Instructor. The classroom portion covers: - An in-depth review of Virginia firearm laws - Virginia Use of Force and Self-Defense law - Where you can and cannot carry in Virginia - Essential firearm safety rules - Operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols - Types of pistols and how to select the right one - Proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage - Ammunition knowledge and selection - How to apply for and maintain your Virginia Resident Concealed Handgun Permit The range portion covers: - Range safety rules and procedures - Fundamentals of pistol shooting and marksmanship - Shooting positions - Loading, unloading, and handling procedures - Clearing pistol stoppages - Common shooting errors and corrections Students will complete live-fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification on the range. Students must be 18 years of age or older to attend. PLEASE NOTE: Firearms and live ammunition are not permitted in the classroom. Please leave firearms unloaded and secured in your vehicle.

Clients can cancel their booking up to twelve hours before the start time. Cancellations made after that point may not be accepted. Clients may reschedule their booking at any time before the session begins. Late bookings are allowed up to twelve hours before the start time. Group bookings are limited to four participants unless otherwise approved.
